With the aim to provide ultimate satisfaction to a wider range of customers, Honda developed the All-New Mobilio as a response to the needs and desires of people looking for the one affordable vehicle that can take them and their loved ones to places. In his opening remarks, HCPI President and General Manager, Toshio Kuwahara said that the All-New Mobilio is Honda’s first Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV) especially developed for the Asian market. “And with a clear grasp of the local culture, we believe that the All New Mobilio fits the needs and expectations of the Filipino family in a vehicle and we are thrilled to be able to finally introduce it locally and see more smiles on the road in an All New Mobilio”, Kuwahara added.

With the needs and desires of the customers and Honda’s differentiation in mind, the development team harmonized all these and came up with a sporty and highly competitive package for Honda’s MUV.

The All-New Mobilio design was based on the “Progressive Private Jetliner” concept which offers modern and young styling, advanced technology, superbly spacious cabin, flexible seats and comfortable sedan-like ride that feels like sitting in a private jet.

The front bumper, grille and door are designed to emphasize energy and have a strong stance. The line that connects the headlights and front grille represents strength and stable motion. The rear showcases distinctive design of the floating rear pillar and the rear fender’s character line runs from the rear to the side body to convey a tough and strong stance. And to add to the dynamic appearance of the All-New Mobilio, the rear spoiler is attached to the body. On the side, the All-New Mobilio displays a glassy cabin and with the application of the lightning bolt belt line to provide optimal visibility from the second and third row seats. With its cabin design, body integrated spoiler, and dynamic stance, the All-New Mobilio clearly sets itself apart from other MUVs in the market by avoiding a boxy look typical in the segment.

Number-wise, the All-New Mobilio measures 4,386mm – 4,398mm (RS) long, 1,683mm wide, 1,603mm tall and 2,652mm wheelbase. The All-New Mobilio’s dimensions were carefully studied and researched on to fit the needs of the market such as length that would fit the average size of household parking spaces and in shopping malls, a 5.2m turning radius for easy maneuverability and driving around the city and a 189 mm ground clearance that provides a comfortable ride even on rough roads.

Mobilio RS Front (1)With the All-New Mobilio, Honda reintroduces one of its sporty grades, RS. RS is Honda’s sporty grade for everyday sport as it balances day-to-day utility with sportiness. The RS grade is among other Honda sport grades, Type R and Si. Honda’s RS or Road Sailing design is integrated in the All-New Mobilio top of the line variant. The All-New Mobilio RS flaunts seven exclusively-designed exterior parts namely front grille, front bumper, 15” alloy wheels, side sill garnish, rear spoiler, rear bumper, tailpipe finisher and the RS emblem. With the RS design, a sportier and sophisticated character is presented in Honda’s first Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle.

Mobilio RS RearUnder the hood is Honda’s 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine that delivers maximum power output of 120 ps at 6600 rpm and 145 NM of torque at 4600 rpm. The 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine is mated to either an improved 5-speed Manual Transmission or the new Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under the Earth Dreams Technology to keep the balance between power and fuel efficiency.

mobilio-audioInside, the All-New Mobilio interior embraces a “prime comfort” theme consistent with its class leading and comfortable cabin. Maintaining the Honda design philosophy of “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum”, high quality is reflected in every element of the interior design to provide ultimate comfort and satisfaction to all seven occupants.

Honda has given considerable effort to its second and third row seats to create wider and longer space for the legroom and knee clearance; and generous space for the headroom. The second row seat is a 60/40 split, recline, fold, and tumble type with 90mm slide function for middle-seat passenger comfort and ensures easy access to the third row. The third row seat, on the other hand, is a 50/50 split, fold, and tumble type which gives more flexibility to accommodate different hauling needs. Furthermore, the third row seat can be quickly and conveniently tumbled forward for maximum the cargo space.

Honda’s new MUV cockpit features concentrated high-functional controls with luxurious silver trim to enhance driver satisfaction. The triple analog three dimensional (3D) meters easily show crucial information the driver needs at any given time and present it in a striking appearance. To supplement this, white and blue illuminated outlines were incorporated to give an advanced feel of the cockpit.

The All-New Mobilio RS is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen audio unit with built-in navigation system powered by Garmin. The head unit includes easy to operate features such as Emergency Hotline Button for sudden roadside needs, Bluetooth audio and hands-free telephone (HFT), CD/DVD drive, as well as USB and AUX ports.
