KNOWN to have a firm hold on the country’s commercial vehicle segment, Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) in its 2015 Truck Fest  showcases an array of trucks in different body application, ensuring the brand’s continued leadership in the category.

IPC’s trucks takes into the spotlight at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on May 28-30, 2015, displaying the firm’s core values of dependability, durability and reliability.
Being the Philippines’ most trusted brand when it comes to trucks—clearly seen in the N-Series model, which consistently holds the No. 1 position in the light-duty truck category—Isuzu remains steadfast in bringing out new products to the market.
“In selling our trucks, we instill at least three points in mind: to contribute in the overall logistics, minimize truck down time and, lastly, listen to customer’s need. We provide our customers with world-class-quality trucks and we wouldn’t want to leave them at that. The key is to continue to improve together with the customers. We listen to them so we can adjust to what they need and develop better products,” said IPC president Hajime Koso.
“The trucks and bus segment plays a vital role in building the nation. It is not surprising that in the past two years, our trucks sales have seen a significant growth, and this is parallel to the overall growth of the economy,”  Koso added.

Long before Isuzu started manufacturing LCVs, trucks were their sole business and, until today, it remains to be the profit earner. This somehow started their reputation of being a responsible partner. With Isuzu focusing on building their relationship with its customers, they gained the people’s trust over their products.
Building trust
“Trust in a brand goes a long way. Isuzu understands that when a customer buys a product, it is the start of a relationship, something that we have to value and keep for a long time,”  Koso said. “After a while, our customers will tell us what else they need. This then becomes our areas for improvement.”
Lining up the event are 26 Isuzu truck models that are each designed for a specific business purpose. These are the NHR55 aluminum van, flexitruck and i-VAN; NKR71 aluminum van, composite van, dropside, LED van, stake truck with tail lift and palletized body; NPR71 aluminum van with side door, dropside and aerial platform, NPR85 cab and chassis; NPS75 cab and chassis; NQR71 articulated crane, aluminum van with side door and drop side; FRR90 dropside; FSR and FVR fire trucks; FVM wing van; CYZ51 mixer, CYZ51T cab and chassis; and  EXR51K and EXR51F tractor heads.
Present to show their support for the event were loyal  fleet customers, who IPC treats as valued business partners. Along with the customers are IPC’s trusted bodybuilders like Almazora, Centro, Pinnacle, Multilift, Firewolf and Anos who have been working hand-in-hand with IPC to create suitable body kits for trucks.
For business growth
As of April 2015, IPC already sold a total of 1,270 units of trucks and buses, a 42-percent increase from the same period last year. This indicates that IPC is on track to surpass the company’s total truck sales in 2014.
For this year, the company is eyeing to sell at least 4,000 units of trucks to maintain its position in the industry.

Unfortunately for the Philippines, a big number of the trucks that run everyday are secondhand units, mostly repaired and converted. This is the reason why Isuzu is on a long-term campaign to promote brand-new trucks not just for the benefit of the customer but to promote road safety as well.

“Purchasing brand-new trucks gives more long-term advantages to customers. For one, the maintenance cost is a lot cheaper, plus it is also generally safer to use compared to second-hand trucks,” Koso  said.

In addition to the 2015 Truck Fest, IPC announced a special monthlong promo, offering free items to be included on new fleet and retail purchases made between May 28 and July 31.
The freebies includes P10,000 worth of periodic maintenance service coupons with free filters, three-year LTO registration and an Apple iPad mini with 16 GB.
