Filipino technicians bag multiple awards at Ford skills competition in Bangkok
FORD recently organized its second annual Technical Skills Competition held at the Ford VP Auto Enterprise service center in Bangkok, Thailand, helping to build on its commitment to deliver a world-class customer service experience to its customers across the region.
Twelve top technicians from six countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea were selected to compete with each other to win the crown for the best technician, while three teams of two top technicians from Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia competed in the “Express Service” category.
The Philippine team bagged a handful of awards, including third place in the QSS team competition (George Palatic of Ford Libis and Mikhail Santos of Ford Global), third place in the Individual Skills Competition (Alfred Delgado from Ford Global City), and Best Technician (Jessie Calumno from Ford Libis).
“I commend and congratulate Team Philippines for bringing home the major awards from the second Asean Skills Competition. This win validates our team’s commitment to provide quality customer service skills and expertise for that overall Ford brand experience in every dealership nationwide,” said Margo Delfinado, customer service director of Ford Philippines.
The competition provides opportunities to enrich the skills of service staff at Ford dealerships across the region and helps to maintain Ford’s global service standard of “Quality Care,” all while delivering the best and most efficient service to a fast-increasing customer base.
This year’s competition was divided into two categories: a Technical Skills Competition and a newly added “Express Service” program that focuses on the efficiency of the Ford technician to provide complete vehicle schedule maintenance to customers within 30 minutes.
“Ford is committed towards continually evaluating and upgrading the skills and expertise of our technicians to effectively meet customer requirements and provide an enjoyable aftersales experience,” said Derek Clatworthy, regional customer service director for Ford Asean.
“Our technicians are instrumental in delivering superior customer satisfaction, and we are confident that by continually upgrading their skills, we will continue to further enhance our customer service,” he added.
The Ford Annual Technical Skills Competition provides a platform for technicians to showcase their technical skills, knowledge and expertise, and to share their experiences with other technicians from across the region.
