chevrolet-trax-2Here’s another of those possible gifts to buy for Christmas.
The Covenant Car Company, Inc. is bringing to the local market by the final quarter of this year the Chevrolet Trax, a compact SUV seen to deliver more good tidings for the bowtie brand during the holiday season.
The Trax five-door hatchback offers crossover functionality with basically the same ride and handling as that of a small car.

Initially, TCCI will import from one of GM’s three plants in Korea just the Trax LT variant.

Under the hood is an Ecotec 1.4-liter turbo engine packing 138 horsepower mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

chevrolet-trax-4Chevrolet Trax has the signature Mylink infotainment with a 7-inch color screen, rearview camera, remote keyless entry and 16-inch alloy wheels as standard as well as fold flat 60/40 split rear seat, fold flat front passenger seat and 15 storage compartments. It was just awarded a 5-star crash test rating from NHTSA and IIHS top safety pick in the US. Chances are that Chevrolet’s new OnStar 4G LTE embedded vehicle data system that can turn into a Wi-Fi hotspot as an option might make it to the units set to be exported to the Philippines.

You can expect this model up for a dogfight against the Ford EcoSport, the Honda HRV, the Mitsubishi ASX and even Subaru XV to be competitive price-wise starting at around P998,000.
