P15_0729_a4_rgbPorsche is introducing a new 911 model at the Frankfurt auto show. The highlight is that the famous flat-six engine will now be turbocharged as standard for the Carrera model. An all-new engine, a 3.0-liter flat-six, gets twin turbocharging. Power is now 370 hp and torque 450Nm for the Carrera, and 420 hp / 500Nm for the Carrera S, the highest ever for those models.

The Carrera S gets rear-wheel steering, which benefits handling. Porsche says that with the new system, the car’s Nurburgring lap time is by faster by 10 seconds, to 7 minutes 30 seconds.

Exterior changes include new headlight with four-unit daytime running lights, flush door handles, new engine lid and new taillights.
