BERJAYA Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles in the country, recently concluded its search for the best technicians among its dealership network.
The winners will go on to represent the Philippines in the Asia Pacific round of MazTech to be held in Shanghai, China, in 2016.
Mazda Quezon Avenue once again emerged as the champion with the duo of Cris B. Sta. Maria and Garry A. Ambida leading a total of 22 technicians who vied for the top honors in this year’s Mazda Technician Contest Philippines or MazTech.
This is the second year in a row that Mazda Quezon Avenue has topped the annual competition.
After 10 grueling hours of tests and technical evaluation involving practical problem solving and troubleshooting on Dec. 5 at Mazda Philippines PDI Center-ACE Logistics Warehouse in Calamba, Laguna, Sta. Maria and Ambida gained top scores and were chosen to represent the Philippines in the Asia and Oceania MazTech Competition slated for second quarter of 2016.
“This is the second time we have conducted the MazTech competition for our dealerships and their top technicians, and we are happy to see that there has been marked improvement in their overall skills as problem-solvers,” said Steven Tan, president and CEO of Berjaya Auto Philippines. “Mazda Philippines is committed to delivering the best after-sales service for our customers. By continually engaging the technicians from among our dealerships in this structured competition, we continue to elevate the quality and standards of our service.”
Coming in second to the team from Mazda Quezon Avenue is Mazda Dagupan, and the team from Mazda Tarlac finishing third.
Ramil de Vera, Mazda Philippines general manager for aftersales, is proud of the level of competition in this year’s MazTech. “The skills of our technical team are continuously improving, and seeing our provincial dealers field in world-class technicians in this competition is proof that Mazda customers are receiving the same quality of service whichever Mazda
dealership they bring their cars to,” said De Vera.
Mazda Philippines’ current product lineup includes the Mazda2 subcompact sedan and hatchback, Mazda3 SkyActiv compact sedan and hatchback, Mazda6 executive sedan and wagon, CX-5 compact SUV, CX-9 seven-seater SUV, MX-5 two-seater sports roadster, and BT-50 pickup truck.
There are 15 Mazda sales and service dealerships located across the country: Mazda Greenhills along Edsa, Mazda Pasig along C-5, Mazda Quezon Avenue, Mazda North Edsa and Mazda Alabang in Metro Manila; and Pampanga, Dagupan, Cabanatuan, Batangas, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Tarlac, Cavite, Davao and Iloilo in the provinces.
