Could there be a more perfect pair to share joyride tales with than a father and a son?

Zoren and Maverick “Mavy” Legaspi have pretty much endorsed everything. Their family, along with actress Carmina Villaroel and Cassy, have successfully earned their way as one of the most influential brand endorsers in the country today. It is not unlikely that you steer your way through Edsa without seeing their faces plastered on billboards.

Being oblivious to fame, however, is Zoren’s key to gaining clients’ trust and confidence. What makes it natural is because “it was never intentional,” he shares. “At the end of the day, the endorsements are just icing on the cake. I believe people see how we raise our kids, how we treat our family, and they love it. We are lucky and feel humbled to be embraced.”

As the new faces of Chevrolet Philippines’ Trailblazer, Zoren and Mavy get to show their more private and exclusive bond, typical of a father and a son who live their own little world when the women in the family are away.

Zoren and Mavy’s relationship goes stronger and deeper each day, with shared passions, hobbies, interests and mutual love. Their take on various aspects of life are unsurprisingly similar too, like their mutual dislike for bullies and love affair with 4x4s.

Mavy, now all grown up at 15, will one day need to traverse unfamiliar territories. It is a good thing, though, that whether it be driving lessons or embarking on life adventures, he’s always got his dad.

Raising Mavy

It is not hard for Zoren and Mavy to get along. In mind, body and spirit, they are undeniably alike. They run together, pull pranks against each other, play basketball and tennis together, and even to this day, also sleep together. However, there’s a line that Zoren does not want Mavy to cross. After all, he is a father first and a friend second.

Zoren and Mavy like to enjoy normal and fun activities. Their relationship also invites a little rivalry to add spark. “Mavy is really competitive. He always wants to beat me. In basketball, I’d rarely keep up with him simply because he’s too fast for me now. Kaya ako, puro foul na lang,” Zoren laughs.

Beaming with pride, like a true stage dad, he shares that he taught Mavy all kinds of sports, and supports his playing time in school. He is also always on top of things when it comes to his studies.

Mavy is currently a varsity player and a straight-A student at Reedley.

Aside from sports and academics, Mavy shares Zoren’s obsession with cars. “I’m obsessed with big, functional cars. Gusto ko ’yung hindi ko na aalalahanin kung ‘uulan ba? babahain ba ako?’ Paglabas ko, gusto ko kahit anong panahon, kaya ng kotse—especially when it comes to my family. Protection and safety of family come first,” Zoren shares.

Go big for the family

The Chevrolet endorsement came at the right time. Being a 4×4 guy himself, Zoren always had an eye for the Trailblazer’s exteriors. The car fit his standards, too: big, strong and rugged, and could fit his whole family. “It gives you the height and stance that command respect on the road. I also want a car that has an imposing appearance, not because I want to be a bully on the road, but because of our road conditions. When you’re behind the Trailblazer, you feel confident.”

The Legaspis love to go for long rides to Batangas or outdoor adventures, and the Trailblazer has all the functions, sturdiness and entertainment that they need to make memorable journeys together.

Chevrolet Philippines director for marketing and customer services Jocelyn Buena shares that Zoren and Mavy are perfect in espousing the company’s firm belief on family values.

“They represent Filipino family best. Other aspects in their life are very strong in our brand, like doing things together—ultimate father-and-son bonding. Sons learn about cars from their dads, and that’s what we communicate because it is very relatable,” Buena adds.

To get an inside look at how this strong relationship between Zoren and Mavy works, Chevrolet teamed up with award-winning director Paul Soriano to produce the first in a series of video campaigns titled “May Love na si Mavy?” and “Love this Chevy!”

Chevrolet adds five new variants to its array of Trailblazers in the country—the LT, LTX MT or AT, LTZ, and LTZ Special Edition—to meet the diverse driving requirements and lifestyle needs of Filipinos, and with the country’s extreme weather conditions in mind.

At the heart of every Trailblazer is the second generation Duramax turbodiesel engine. The engine line’s 2.8-liter variant produces 200 horsepower and 500 Newton meters of torque, making the Trailblazer the most powerful in an already impressive midsize SUV class.

General Motor’s signature diesel engine underscores the balance of increasing the Trailblazer’s acceleration, straight-line performance as well off-road capabilities with improved fuel efficiency.

Chevrolet Trailblazer is also the first local midsize SUV to offer a best-in-class 800-millimeter water wading capability.

More importantly, the Trailblazer commits to road and passenger safety. The SUV’s Anti-lock Braking System prevents wheels from locking under sudden and hard braking situations, enabling the driver to retain steering control. Features like the Panic Braking Assist, Traction Control System Hill Assist and Descent Control, and Electronic Drive Mode Select complete the package.

Finally, the Trailblazer will not leave in-car comfort and driver-centered convenience behind. Interiors are made even more spacious and comfortable with enhanced trims and finishes, exuding a more premium cabin feel.

Young kids like Mavy like the MyLink infotainment system in the LTZ variant, which features touchscreen technology and media connectivity through Bluetooth, AUX, USB and Siri Eyes Free.

The LTX AT variant’s Android Infotainment System, meanwhile, is a versatile infotainment system that comes with a free one-year 4G Internet connection powered by Globe Tattoo.

“We make great cars for journeys you can take with friends and family. You can enjoy it more because it’s a great car. You have fewer things to worry about. You can focus your energy on planning and enjoying the trip,” Buena said.

New tales await as the adventure of Zoren and Mavy begins.
