LA TRINIDAD, Benguet—A village chief died in a vehicular crash on Wednesday involving a delegation from Benguet’s Tuba town which was making its way to Tagum City, according to the provincial government.
Franklyn Milo of Twin Peaks village died when the van carrying several Tuba employees veered off the road and crashed to avoid a collision with another vehicle, said Magdalena Niwane, Tuba tourism officer.
Nangalisan village chief Pedro Guzman and employees Catalino Basilio and John Daniel were injured in the said crash.
They were part of a “Lakbay Aral (Study Tour)” delegation led by Tuba Mayor Florencio Bentrez which toured Davao City, said Benguet Gov. Nestor Fongwan.
Milo’s group was invited to visit Tagum. The mayor was not part of the said trip.
The injured Tuba delegates have been confined at a Davao City hospital for treatment. –Frinston L. Lim, Kimberlie Quitasol, RAM
