WORLD-renowned precision driver and Guinness world record holder Russ Swift returns to the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center.

Swift will once again amaze visitors to MIAS with his trademark J-turns, donuts and lightning-quick parallel parking maneuvers.

At this year’s MIAS, Russ Swift has a thrilling new ride: the new Forester SUV. The Forester, despite its tall stance and high ground clearance, will be under Russ’ precise control as it does all sorts of extreme maneuvers.

Russ Swift has certainly lived up to his name. He can spin a car into a parking space just 33 cm longer than the vehicle, in two seconds.

He has taught grannies how to do donuts, and started the craze for stunt driving with his famous Austin Montego commercial in 1988.

Russ Swift’s career started in Autotesting, a type of motorsport where drivers follow a defined route. Precision driving and maintaining momentum are the keys to success here, and it was here where Russ first proved his driving ability.

In 1987, an advertising agency got hold of one of his videos, and the agency thought it would be a good idea to use Russ’s skills in a TV commercial. In a corporate car park, a car pulls a series of break-neck stunts, culminating in a handbrake turn, and an eye-popping piece of parallel parking. An anonymous actor climbs out of the car and wins the applause of his on-screen co-workers. But the real talent behind the wheel was Russ Swift, stunt driver extraordinaire. The ad won the “best car commercial in the world” award that year, and it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

Since then Russ has established himself as the world’s number one display driver with numerous TV commercials, and car launches to his credit world-wide.

Russ has now performed over 8,000 displays in over 50 countries including America, South Africa, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Australia.

Russ has revolutionized International Auto Shows. As a result of Russ’s displays at various auto shows, many have adopted the “live” theme for the whole show.

Russ established three Guinness world records: Parallel parking in the tightest space, J Turn in the tightest space, and the fastest donuts.

For the 2016 Manila International Auto Show, Russ Swift will be doing his trademark maneuvers at the rear driveway of the World Trade Center. Russ will be thrilling crowds every day of MIAS, with scheduled performances daily.

He will also be at the launch of the new Subaru Forester, the latest SUV to come from the Japanese brand.
