Mazda has a new partner for its next pickup truck: Isuzu. When Ford was a major shareholder in Mazda, the Japanese brand’s pickup trucks were based on Ford units. For several generations, the B-series pickup has been basically a rebadged Ford Ranger. With Ford out of the picture, Mazda has turned to a new partner, Isuzu.
Isuzu will produce the next-generation pickup trucks for Mazda, based on Isuzu’s pickup truck model. Isuzu has previously produced Mazda trucks for the Japanese market. The arrangement will allow Mazda to continue selling a pickup truck under its own brand. The new agreement will cover the g market, with the exception of North America.
