It’s that time of year again when the Formula One fraternity heads to the Lion city for the 2016 edition of the F1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
Since its inaugural race back in 2008, the Singapore Grand Prix has been the most awaited and most attended race in the Formula One calendar for Filipinos. The ultimate night race, as it’s billed, has always had numerous activities on tap. Whether you are a newbie or a rabid F1 fan, you will surely find the experience worthwhile. This year is no different, aside from all the on-track action: the Ferrari Challenge, TCR International Series, Porsche Carrera Cup and the reason for it all, Formula One. Kylie Minogue, Pentatonix, Bastille, Halsey, Queen + Adam Lambert and Imagine Dragons will showcase their talents at the Padang Stage, and at the Esplanade Outdoor theatre.
Also, the Singapore Tourism Board, for the 9th year running, will again be holding its GPSS or Grand Prix Season Singapore. Visitors will see the city come alive days leading up to the GP weekend, culminating in the F1 race on the 18th of September. Fans and partygoers can head to the Amber Lounge and Podium lounge and party the night away with top celebs and A-list personalities. This is the place to “see and be seen”. For some quiet time by yourself, or with your significant other, you can troop over to the Singapore Art Museum, or the National Art Gallery. Then there’s always Orchard road for all your shopping needs. For bar habitues, there are over 40 pubs and restaurants offering exclusive deals. The Johnnie Walker circuit party returns at 1-Altitude. The Sky Grande’ Prix will be held at the 190-meter high Singapore Land Tower, offering partygoers a panoramic view of the city to capture the perfect Facebook or Instagram photo.
For wholesome family fun, Resorts World Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Zoo and Night Safari are just some of the attractions that will be enjoyed by the young ones and the young at heart.
GP Tickets and travel packages are still available. Thus, there is no excuse and no better time to head over to Singapore and catch all the Formula One action at the Marina Bay Circuit. With the way the F1 championship is shaping up, the winner of the Singapore Grand Prix, could take a big step towards walking away with the 2016 F1 Drivers Championship.
