Due to the recent spate of complaints against its traffic enforcers, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is hoping to launch soon a web portal where the public can immediately report unscrupulous personnel.
Through “Report Kotong” which will be available through the MMDA’s official website, www.mmda.gov.ph, the agency hopes to get the public’s cooperation “in weeding out these people as a way to better serve them,” MMDA General Manager Tim Orbos said recently.
He added that they would also conduct a name-and-shame campaign against errant individuals in the agency.
Two traffic constables are currently under investigation after reports that they each received a P200 bribe from a motorist in San Juan City. Four others have been suspended for the same offense while a fifth one, Dexter Lucas, was arrested by the police for drug pushing. – Jovic Yee
