Kia’s designers based in Germany and California worked closely with staff from the company’s headquarters in South Korea resulting in a truly global aesthetic for a car with a balanced stance and a confident look. Wheels are 17-inch aluminum alloy units.

The front layout has been updated putting more emphasis on the tiger-nose grille that is framed by sportier headlights. These headlamps are integrated cornering lights and LED daytime running lights. The new Rio is 5mm wider and 15mm longer than the previous model. The increased surface area for the hood of the vehicle and more upright C-pillar contribute to its commanding presence on the streets.

The driver’s contact points at the seat and steering wheel are all adjustable aiding in providing maximum comfort during the driving experience. The driver-oriented dashboard features a large ‘floating’ touchscreen interface. There’s reportedly ample head and leg room at the back. Seats are trimmed in fabric.

Rio is equipped with automatic climate control. Among the host of other convenience features are the Smart Key with push-button start, steering wheel mounted controls, and front and rear power outlets for charging your devices.

Rio is powered by a 1.4 liter gasoline engine producing 100ps and 133Nm. The four-cylinder is paired with four-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new Rio comes in a single variant for now, the 1.4L GL 4AT, priced at P735,000. It’s available for purchase starting June 2017.
