This year marks a milestone year for Subaru’s performance division STI as it will be its 10th consecutive participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, and the team already chalked up four class wins to its name, most recently in 2015 and 2016.
STI will enter the SP3T class with a new lightweight car for 2017, fitted with a paddle shift gear system, using Motul’s various products, including its high performance 300V engine oil and specialist brake fluids. The same winning driver line up from 2016 has been retained, Hideki Yamauchi, Tim Schrick, Marcel Lasse and Carlo Van Dam, and the car was shaken down ready for the season at Fuji Speedway last March.
The partnership with STI strengthens the collaboration with Subaru Europe which began in 2011. The technical experts from Motul and Subaru together developed and engineered a co-branded oil (5W30 available in 1L & 5L) to offer optimum performance and reliability for Subaru vehicles.
