CAMPI showcases the best of greener transport in the 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit

Motoring enthusiasts and automotive industry leaders from around the region gathered at the World Trade Center Metro Manila as the country hosts the 1st ASEAN and Hybrid Vehicles Summit last Thursday and Friday (June 28 – 29). Co-organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the Summit reaffirms that the time is now for embracing new technology for greener transport.Showcased were some of the latest electric and hybrid vehicles to hit Philippine roads, which include the Toyota Prius PHV, Lexus NX 300h, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and i-MiEV, and the Nissan Note e-Power and Nissan Leaf.

CAMPI also highlights its commitment to make personal mobility more sustainable with a gallery that showcases these environment-friendly innovations. The photo exhibit will feature models from some of the Chamber’s member-brands, such as BAIC EU260, BMW i8, Daewoo EV/HEV BS 120CN, Foton Tornado Cummins, Honda Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, Isuzu ERGA, KIA Soul EV, Mazda i-ELOOP Regenerative Braking System, Mercedes-Benz C 350 e, Peugeot 308 Station Wagon with BlueHDI Technology, SsangYong XAV, Suzuki IGNIS 1.2 Dualjet SVHS, and Volkswagen I.D. Buzz.

Attendees were immersed in green car technology with educational videos that was played on an LED wall throughout the two-day event. The 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit is co-presented by the Department of Trade and Industry, Board of Investments, Electric Vehicles Association of the Philippines, and MERALCO.
