Foton PH is actively expanding its ever-growing network of dealerships. A month after inaugurating its showroom in Camarines Sur, Foton PH officially opened its Marilao showroom last August 17th. United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the exclusive distributor of Foton vehicles in the country, awarded the dealership to Frontier Automotive Marilao Corporation (FAM-C) led by its dealer principals Eugene Bino, Wilson Fung, Michael Mancilla and Ken Trajano. It was founded by a group of businessmen in the plastic packaging industry.

One of its dealer principals Ken Trajano said, “This is our first automotive dealership. Our group’s core competency was industrial plastic manufacturing. However, our company has already been using Foton’s light duty trucks for our deliveries and apparently, the vehicles were really efficient and dependable that’s why we decided to put up our own Foton dealership.”

The newest Foton showroom is located along MacArthur Highway, with the 2,800-square meter facility built to suit the brand’s vehicle showroom, parts and service center, and stockyard. With a total of 10 service bays, it is capable of servicing 5 passenger vehicles and 5 more for its Tornado light duty trucks simultaenously.

“At first, what we wanted to focus on were light duty trucks (LDT), and when it comes to that product segment, Foton is one of the top manufacturers of commercial vehicles and emerging automotive brand in the Philippines.” Trajano added. “We’re fortunate because aside from the LDTs, Foton also gave us the opportunity to venture on more product segments such as passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, heavy equipment and its latest addition, the Foton Gratour series.” he noted.

UAAGI and Foton Philippines president Rommel Sytin who was present during the opening said, “The establishment of Foton Marilao amplifies our commitment to make Foton closer to more Filipino families and businesses in Central Luzon. In addition, our team also aims to provide notable ownership experiences as we consider it equally important with our unit sales.”

Sytin also pointed out the strong and growing population in the province of Bulacan, citing its 3 million population has a healthy growth rate that can sustain a robust economy in the years to come. Bulacan is situated north of Metro Manila, with the biggest population in Region III and second largest in the country. It is also part of the Metro Luzon Urban Beltway Super Region.

With strong potential in the government’s Jeepney Modernization Program, Sytin said Foton can capitalize on this situation. He added – “Foton Philippines will participate in this new program that would encourage and support the use of eco-friendly public utility vehicles (PUV).”

Foton dealer principal Michael Mancilla added, “The brand has a great potential and wide market reach here in our province. Apart from the continuous emergence of industrial units in Bulacan, the development of infrastructures and new transport sectors will also benefit from our dealership.”

During the opening ceremony, Foton PH took the opporutnity to present a brand new Foton Gratour Patrol Jeep to the Province of Bulacan. “This vehicle serves as our support to the local government of Bulacan to further strengthen its response to emergency and police operations.” said Sytin.

Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado said, “I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the management of Foton : first, for choosing Bulacan as the location of this state-of-the art passenger and commercial vehicle showroom and second, for supporting our programs thru the donation of the patrol vehicle. As we are armed with the same goal, we will remain partners in sustaining order, growth and success.”
