King enjoys a victory high.

Last weekend’s action-packed second race of Round 5 of the Ferrari Challenge APAC was held in Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur, home of Malaysian F1 Grand Prix and Malaysian MotoGP.

For the Ferrari 458 Pirelli class, it was Martin Berry winning both races as the Ferrari Challenge headed for its penultimate round at the Singapore Grand Prix this Sept. 16 to 17.

Except for this class, all the other categories were still open for a class win including the Pirelli AM class.

The blistering 50 degrees heat in Sepang took every ounce of determination for all the drivers including Angie Mead King who took home her first win in the Pirelli AM class.

Chinese driver Yanbing Xing battled it out with King as Xing started from pole position. However, Xing got hit on lap 8 and lost his position ending third place on the podium.

This was a maiden win for King who was leading the race from start to finish.

Japanese driver Ken Seto who led a very steady race came in second place, elevating him to just 6 points behind table leader Tiger Wu in the standings.

Angie Mead King is married to fashion and lifestyle host and TV personality Joey Mead King, and is managing director of the Victoria Group of Companies.

Passion for motorsports

Her passion for motorsports is only equal to her passion for exotic cars.

She also runs a very exclusive specialty car shop specializing in RWB Porsche conversions and fitting of custom forged wheels and air suspension systems, as well as wide body conversions and high performance engine tuning and modifications.

She received her first racing license for the Ferrari Challenge earlier this year, and has shown remarkable potential for the sport.

Joey Mead King, Ferrari Philippines and Autostrada Motore executive director Marc Soong, and local race car driver and Toyota Vios Cup champion Allan Uy were with King in Sepang.

Their support for Angie King by way of ensuring her Ferrari would be well-prepared for the KL leg paid off. They look forward to the next race in Singapore.

This Wednesday also marks the 5th year celebration of Ferrari Philippines, and a celebration of King’s first win will be held at the Ferrari Showroom in BGC.
