Peugeot Philippines just announced that it is introducing the new Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line. “We are very proud to unveil our newest SUV,” Peugeot Philippines President Glen Dasig said. “The new Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line is a culmination of our core values as a company,” he added. Combining style, athleticism, and efficiency, the Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line fits the exacting needs of the premium segment in the country, providing the best of all worlds to both drivers and passengers alike.
It won the 2017 European Car of the Year at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and is regarded as a game-changer for Peugeot, the new 3008 SUV GT Line boasts of groundbreaking technology and design never before seen in previous models.
“Apart from its distinctive style, the new Peugeot 3008 SUV represents the brand’s move towards improving efficiency while delivering an even greater power output compared to previous models,” Dasig said. “This explains Peugeot’s decision to match the 3008 SUV with a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine. Turbocharging has allowed us to create smaller engines which have better fuel consumption, more power, and significant reductions in weight, allowing for an uncompromising performance in every drive,” he added.
Complementing the new Peugeot 3008 SUV’s high-powered, low displacement engine is a leaner body that is 100kg lighter than its predecessor despite its added length. The weight reduction is due to Peugeot’s Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) technology–giving a more responsive and agile drive. Combining these elements produces an optimal power-to-weight ratio that puts the vehicle ahead of its competitors.
“The vehicle is lighter, yet more agile and responsive than our previous generation model,” Dasig continues. “This further disproves the common notion that higher displaced engines are more suitable for SUVs,” he added.
With a sleeker and ultra-modern exterior, the Peugeot 3008 SUV leaves an unmistakable impression on the senses as it displays character and strength. Its wide checkered grille highlights the athletic look of the vehicle, while its signature feline LED front headlamps, long bonnet, large wheels, and high ground clearance denote a confident SUV stance. The distinct look is completed by a black diamond roof that suggests an air of sophistication, as it appears to float through the aid of tasteful chrome highlights.
Inside, the driving experience is immediately amplified through Peugeot’s next generation iCockpit. With its advanced ergonomics, modern display panel, and interactive touchscreen, drivers and passengers are immersed in a modern digital world. The most noticeable feature of the new iCockpit® is the 12.3” all-digital instrument panel.
Advanced connectivity is achieved with Mirror Screen functionality which encomapsses Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and Android Auto technology. Key features of compatible smartphones are mirrored onto the 8.0” capacitive touchscreen.
Enhancing the driving experience one step further, the new Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line also introduces the iCockpit Amplify. Available in Boost and Relax modes, the iCockpit Amplify system changes the cabin ambiance by altering the driving dynamics, lighting, acoustics, passenger comfort, and even the fragrance inside the vehicle.
Making its debut in the new Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line is a new Advanced Grip Control system that automatically adjusts the driving dynamics based on 3 preselected road conditions: Mud, Sand, and Snow. This provides an efficient alternative to the traditional off-road systems.
Due to the extremely high level of demand for the new Peugeot 3008 SUV globally, the vehicle will be in limited supply here in the Philippines this year. “It is a good problem to have and we definitely saw it coming,” says Dasig. “We expected a high demand when the New 3008 SUV was released in Europe, especially when it was awarded European Car of the Year earlier this year,” he added.
Realizing the situation, Peugeot Philippines conducted a series of private preview events for clients who expressed their desire to be one of the first to drive the New Peugeot 3008 SUV. “The private previews were a first for Peugeot Philippines,” Peugeot Philippines Marketing Director Karen Carvajal explains. “As part of our goal to be the leader in providing customer-centric experiences in the country’s automotive industry, we made a commitment to our New 3008 SUV customers that they will be treated to an experience unlike any other,” she added.
Held over the course of one week, each client was given a one-hour slot to view the New 3008 SUV ahead of the general public. “The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” Carvajal says of the unique customer experience. “So far, we have already turned over most of the units from our first batch of shipment to both returning and new customers while the remaining units are already spoken for,” Carvajal said. “This just goes to show the level of interest and demand our market has for this remarkable product,” she added.
The New Peugeot 3008 SUV GT Line starts at Php 2,590,000. “At this price point, the New 3008 SUV GT Line will be very competitive,” said Peugeot Philippines Marketing Director Karen Carvajal. “That is why the demand here in the country is as strong as it is globally,” she added.
The vehicle will continue to be in very limited supply for the rest of the year. Reservations are currently being accepted for the second batch of units arriving in November.
Since formally opening in 2012, Peugeot has grown throughout the Philippines and currently has a total of eight (8) dealerships nationwide. Receive the latest news and updates on Peugeot by visiting www.peugeot.ph or following Peugeot Philippines at www.facebook.com/PeugeotPhilippines.
