Shell partners with AXA for engine warranty and roadside assistance to Helix Ultra users
Lubricant retailer Pilipinas Shell recently announced its partnership with insurance company AXA Assistance Philippines to give an unprecedented engine warranty to Shell Helix Ultra lubricant users covering an extended engine warranty for up to 12 years (or 200,000 km).
AXA is one of the country’s largest and fastest growing assistance solution companies. AXA CEO Ronald Carillo, who was present during the media launch of the partnership, said that giving a warranty to Helix Ultra users gives them added confidence about the long-lasting engine performance of the oil lubricant brand.
According to Shell Brand manager Anthony Wee, introducing this warranty that is backed up by a well-financed institution gives added protection and peace of mind to Helix Ultra users.
Shell and AXA will also cover Helix Ultra users with two roadside assistance every six months, and these will include towing services and minor repairs like accidents, breakdowns, flat tires, battery boosting, and emergency fuel delivery.
Shell will even send a locksmith if the incident calls for it. This service is available 24/7 for the duration of the warranty.
Shell’s strategic partnership with AXA answers a growing demand by car owners who have bought their brand new cars a few years ago, but no longer have warranty coverage from their respective car dealerships.
By having their cars serviced in Shell Helix Oil Change+ centers, users can enjoy and experience world-class service similar to casa dealership coverage.
Shell Helix Oil Change+ service centers are fully equipped with amenities and friendly comfortable customer lounges with Wi-Fi access and viewing windows so car owners can see what’s going while waiting for their cars to be serviced.
All Shell center technicians are highly trained and certified by the Don Bosco Technical Institute, Shell’s partner and premier institution for driver education and for technical-vocational training.
Once an owner registers his vehicle in a Shell Helix Oil Change+ center, a record containing the vehicle’s comprehensive historical data will be kept as reference for future visits. The center will also give free service reminders for car owners’ ease and convenience.
Wee further explained that Shell Helix Ultra lubricants are designed and developed using ground breaking Shell’s PurePlus technology.
It is the first natural gas-based fully synthetic oil using this proprietary technology that distills all impurities and sediments found in crude-based oils, which eventually can cause engine wear and and corrosion, slowly damaging the engine parts over time leading to engine failure.
Shell Helix Ultra delivers superior protection for better engine performance since car engines are subjected to extreme stress and temperatures specially during bad traffic conditions in the metro.
Removing these impurities allows the lubricants to perform at their optimum level for longer periods, providing superior protection against wear and friction by with up to 32 percent better resistance to oil degradation and up to 50 percent less evaporation to deliver on fuel and engine efficiency.
Shell’s active cleansing technology also protects the engine from harmful sludge and deposits that can seriously affect the car’s engine power and performance.
Shell has a proven track record of over a century of experience, and has made a name for itself with its strong presence in the pinnacle of motorsports, the Formula One. It is also one of the most trusted brand leaders in the energy and petroleum industry.
Now on its 11th year, Shell is the number one global lubricants supplier, according to Kline Global Report.
Shell is also an OEM partner for manufacturers globally and locally for brands like Ferrari, Maserati, BMW, Ford, Mazda, Subaru, Mercedes Benz, Jeep, and Hyundai.
