Porsche Philippines kicks off its 70th anniversary celebration with the new Macan Sport edition
Porsche Philippines celebrated the brand’s 70th anniversary with the Porsche Festival at the Porsche Center Philippines that gave clients and car aficionados the opportunity to have a closer look at Porsche’s current model line-up and have take them take out these cars for a test drive. It also introduced its new Macan Sport, the brand’s most popular model in its line up.
This compact SUV truly embodies the full heritage of Porsche. The new Macan Sport is instantly recognizable with its distinctive sporty appearance, and promises a high level of sporty performance with newly-added adaptive air suspension paired with Porsche’s Active Suspension Management. This system allows the driver and its passengers a high level of comfort and dynamic performance designed for all-road conditions. Its self-leveling function also helps to keep the ride height constant. What’s also new for the Macan Sport is that it features a set of 20-inch RS Spyder design rims, giving it a much sportier look.
In line with Porsche’s principle of active safety, the new Macan Sport features the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) that helps ensure stability extending its limits of sporty performance. With a weight of 1,770 kilograms, the Macan is the lightest SUV made by Porsche, which translates into agile handling.
Inside, the interior architecture of the new Macan integrates its driver and passengers perfectly into the vehicle. The three-dimensional arrangement of its controls and the ascending center console with control buttons allow the driver immediate access to the most important comfort functions. The multi-function sports steering wheel was inspired from the Porsche 918 Spyder design that gives the ideal hands-on experience.
Powering the Macan Sport is the turbocharged two-liter engine that delivers 252 hp from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm and comes standard with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. As a result, the Macan delivers impressive acceleration, reaching 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds and running at a top speed of 229 km/h. In terms of fuel consumption, the Macan proves to be very efficient, depending on the wheel size and tire combination, the Macan consumes 13.9 km/l according to the NEDC.
