Top finish for Growl –Thule Racing Team in Toyota Vios Cup round

Jinno Rufino gave Team Growl-Thule Racing team its first championship award in the last Toyota Vios Cup leg held in the Toyota Manila South Circuit in Filinvest. Teammate Jussi Hoikka is poised to be one of the top contenders for the 2nd leg of the GITI-Formula V1 Race Challenge happening in Clark International Speedway this weekend. Growl-Thule Racing may still be new to motorsports, but they’ve quickly proven that they’re a force to be reckoned with this 2018. Growl Corporation is one of the largest developers and distributors of first class OEM in-dash Audio, Video and Navigation (AVN) system. The Growl Audio Head Unit is customized for different car models and equipped with Growl Drive GPS Navigation System.

Rufino Captures Vios Cup Promotional Class Top Prize

The Celebrity-turned-Promotional Class driver put the Growl-Thule Racing car 1st on the grid for the promotional class and kept his lead all throughout race 1. He was able to hold off other promotional class drivers at bay in the very technical street circuit.

For race 2, Rufino settled for 3rd place finish, a result of the reverse grid rule and some safety car incidents. “After the setback we had in Clark with two blown tires and a car that wasn’t in great condition, I knew we were being set up for a major comeback,” Rufino commented. “The team gave me a great car and I had to do my part for Growl-Thule Racing. I promised them a podium finish and we did that plus a win.”

High Hopes for Jussi Hoikka

Driving the #7 red-and-white car of Growl-Thule Racing, Jussi Hoikka emerged as one of the front-runners in the FV1’s Am Class. He showed strong pace during the season opener last May and set the 7th quickest time in Qualifying at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC).

After a 1-2 podium finish for Giti-Formula V1 Race Challenge last May, Hoikka will once again go neck and neck with his nemesis Sean Smith and Shane Anderson from PartsPro Racing. New AM class entry Charlie Cojuangco can change dynamics of the three competitors and provide the upset that will create excitement until the end of the season.

The Giti-Formula V1 Race Challenge Round 2 is happening on August 11 at the Clark International Speedway.
