Subaru brings Russ Swift to Cebu leg of test drive event this weekend

Russ Swift relies on Subaru’s high performance and reliable engines as well as impeccable stopping power to make sure stunts go well as planned.

There’s something exciting happening at the Queen City of the South this coming weekend.

For the first time ever, Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, is bringing in world-renowned precision driver Russ Swift on Aug. 24 to 26 for the final leg of the 2018 Subaru Ultimate Test Drive event.

This will take place at the North Open Parking of SM City Cebu, where the locals will get to see Russ Swift perform the signature Guinness Record-breaking maneuvers he has been doing for many years at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Swift has revolutionized the way car brands showcase their displays, thrilling audiences with live performances in international auto shows with the two-wheel stunt, parallel parking in the tightest space, J-turning in the tightest space, and the fastest donuts.

Motor Image has been a partnering with Swift in all the nine countries that they are present in, using Subaru vehicles that are basically production cars without any much modifications.

“I am excited to visit Cebu, and am looking forward to perform live to this part of the world. I have made many friends in Manila, and I will be looking forward to making more friends here in Cebu,” Swift said.

Swift, who is also a known classic car collector back in the UK, has made many friends in the Philippines including car collectors as well, and who kept in touch with him over the years after meeting them during car shows.

“The Philippines is like a second home to me, and I have been to some of the tourist destinations like Boracay and Tagaytay. I heard that Cebu is a beautiful place, and this is my first time to see it, so I am very excited about this visit,” he added.

For Swift, performing with Subaru cars makes it much easier to execute stunts. Subaru cars are very well-balanced, and with high-performance and reliable engines as well as the proper stopping power to make sure the stunts go well as planned.

The Subaru Russ Swift show will start every 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm (3 times daily) for the 3-day weekend.

Visitors to the event will also get to experience Subaru’s signature symmetrical all-wheel drive (SAWD), boxer engine, the Subaru Global Platform, and the new EyeSight driver assist technology.

Cebuanos will be given the chance to be at the driver’s seat to experience first-hand how Subaru’s four core technologies make the difference.
