If only this paper could generate the sound of a symphony orchestra, then you wouldn’t need to read this article.

Listening to The Age of Enlightenment from London, one of the world’s leading period instrument orchestras, the crystal clear and angelic voices of international theater superstar Lea Salonga and British soprano Charlotte Beament, the passionate performances of leader and violin soloists Daniel Edgar and Kinga Ujszaszi, and watching the wizardry of musical director and historical keyboard specialist Steven Devine leading this 33-piece orchestra are enough to move you to also start your own dream, however impossible it may be.

The classical performances were inspiring enough that some dreams among the audience may have very well been set to motion.

That night of Nov. 7, the 29th Toyota Classics Charity Concert Tour, themed “Music That Moves Lives For All” was staged at the Theater at Solaire in Paranaque City, reached a record-breaking ticket sales of over P2-million, according to Toyota Motor Philippines.

The entirety of those ticket sales, with an additional donation from TMP itself, enabled the automaker to donate one 29-seater coaster and P1 million in cash for the purchase of multi-sports wheelchairs to support the Paralympic athletes in their transportation and training requirements.

TMP says that with added resources, the Philippines’ Paralympic athletes can now better train and prepare for their succeeding competitions, the key step to bringing more pride for the country.

Toyota Motor Asia Pacific president Susumu Matsuda said in a statement that over the years, Toyota has hosted 203 concerts. With its partners, it has raised $9.5 million for beneficiaries of local charities across Asia.

“Funds raised have helped build hospitals, schools and homes, and provided medical care, educational and job opportunities for those amongst us who need a helping hand. Aspiring young musicians were given music scholarships to purse their dreams; environmental and wildlife protection efforts were also supported,” Matsuda said.

TMP president Satoru Suzuki said that “Toyota champions mobility for everyone, and challenges all to conquer their own impossible.”

In line with its first global corporate initiative “Start Your Impossible” or SYI, Toyota believes that mobility goes beyond cars, and all about overcoming challenges and making dreams come true.

Thus, for 29 years, Toyota Classics has been touching people’s lives within and beyond concert halls, supporting people in realizing their dreams, and celebrating their achievements.

Apart from the Philippine Paralympic Committee, this year’s proceeds also goes to Toyota’s SYI Hero Athlete and first Filipino Gold medalist, Paraswimmer Ernie Gawilan.
