Known for its high-tech and uncompromising approach to success, McLaren recently unveiled a line of premium footwear with the very same guiding principles. There are two distinct collections in the McLaren footwear range: McLaren and McLaren Sport. Both are now available through McLaren’s official online store.

McLaren incorporates futuristic style, technical edge with everyday sophistication. Each of the shoes in this line is made of high quality Spanish and Italian leathers and feature a novel ventilation system which keeps the wearer’s feet cool.

Meanwhile, as its name suggests, McLaren Sport is focused towards the sporting fashion footwear which is inspired by the speed, glamour and style of Formula 1. The entire range blends cutting edge design with top quality materials to offer wearers superb quality and comfort. The upper portions are sculpted with laser-cut airflow graphics to evoke the bodywork of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 F1 car. Meanwhile, the soles use a distinctive tread pattern influenced by race tire design.

For its initial marketing campaign, McLaren enlisted the help of renowned Spanish fashion photographer Jaume de Laiguana. The Barcelona-based Laiguana is one of Europe’s top fashion and portrait photographers and is also a respected music and commercial video director.

He shot Lewis Hamilton, Hekki Kovalainen and Pedro dela Rosa at McLaren’s stunning Technology Centre in Woking, England.
