Thrilling February promos for car shoppers
As local vehicle assemblers ended 2018 with a 16 percent decline, selling just 357,410 units compared to the 425,673 units in 2017, members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association Inc. (TMA) are making sure to get to a hot start this early in the year.
Anyone thinking about a new vehicle this February might want to plan a trip to the showroom over the remaining days of the month.
The combination of cash discounts, all-in low down payment, and expected clearance sales to make room for 2019 models is expected to put car buyers in the driver’s seat when it comes to snagging good buys on a various makes and models.
Aiming to expand Ranger pickup truck ownership in the country, Ford Philippines this month is offering customers cash savings of up to P60,000.
The Ford Ranger 2.0L Bi-Turbo Wildtrak 4×4 AT will be offered with a cash discount of P60,000, or an all-in low downpayment of P128,000.
On the other hand, the Ranger 2.0L Turbo Wildtrak 4×2 AT is available on an all-in low downpayment of P118,000, while the manual transmission variant is offered with an all-in low downpayment of P108,000.
Both 4×2 variants also come with a cash savings of P40,000.
The Ranger achieved record sales in the Philippines last year, with full-year retail sales rising nine percent to an all-time best of 11,604 units, capturing over 20 percent of the segment’s market share.
Elsewhere, in Asia Pacific, the Ranger also achieved all-time record sales for the 10th consecutive year, with retail sales increasing five percent from the previous year to 139,501 vehicles.
Mitsubishi clearance sale
Also this month, Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corp. launched the 2018 Model Year Clearance Sale wherein as much as P225,000 savings could be availed for the 2018 Montero Sport GLS Premium 2WD A/T.
As much as P197,000 savings is offered for the 2018 Strada GLS 2WD A/T, while as much as P350,000 savings for the 2018 Pajero GLS 4WD A/T.
Interestingly, there is also an additional P10,000 savings on top of existing offers for the 2018 Montero Sport, Strada and Pajero variants.
These offers that run until Feb. 28, also include the Xpander GLS A/T that could be had for as low as P152,000 all-in down payment plus P10,000 savings on top of existing offers for all 2019 Xpander variants.
Honda Cars all-in package
Honda Cars Philippines is also offering low downpayment deals until Feb. 28 in all dealerships nationwide.
Customers are entitled to acquire the low cash-out and low monthly amortization all-in bundle for payment terms of 15 percent and 20 percent downpayment, and 36 to 60 months term.
A free one month amortization is also offered to those opting to avail 15 percent and 20 percent downpayments with 60 months financing term.
(The free one month amortization is not applicable to Maybank of the Philippines, while the 15 percent downpayment is not applicable to UCPB).
Customers are also entitled to avail a free insurance package from BPI, RCBC, BDO, Robinsons Bank, Maybank, PNB, Sterling Bank, UCPB, and Bank of Commerce.
(Note that Security Bank, China Bank, PSBank and East West Bank do not offer free insurance.)
The required minimum amount financed for BPI, RCBC, PNB, Robinsons Bank, Maybank, UCPB, and Bank of Commerce is P500,000, that for BDO is P600,000, and that for Sterling Bank is 80 percent.
Honda Car’s all-in package includes a one-year comprehensive insurance with acts of nature, three-year LTO registration, and chattel mortgage fee.
Low cash-out, low monthly amortization, and free one month amortization all-in bundle financing support promo are still subject to approval of bank partners.
Never late to own a Subaru
For car buyers still yearning to own the fourth-generation Forester compact crossover, Motor Image Pilipinas, Subaru’s local distributor, is giving one last chance, that is, before stocks run out.
The deal, which runs until the end of the month, offers Forester 2.0i-Premium at zero percent interest and up to five years of payment term.
The Forester 2.0 XT—the last of the turbocharged Forester models—can be had for a low downpayment of P178,000.
Those who prefer to pay in cash, Motor Image Pilipinas is also offering the outgoing Forester XT at P250,000 discount, putting it at the same price as the recently launched 2019 Forester 2.0i-S EyeSight.
For those buying the fourth-generation non-turbo models, the Forester 2.0i-L has a P150,000 cash discount, while the Forester 2.0i-Premium has a P200,000 discount.
These offers put the net selling price of these models at P1.398 million and P1.568 million, respectively, a lot lower than Subaru XV prices.
All in for the top Trailblazer
