Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour 2.0

By Charles E. Buban Philippine Daily Inquirer April 04,2019

Pursuing the goal of zero fatalities on the road, Nissan during the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, unveiled the “Intelligent Mobility” vision, a sort of guide for the company as to how future Nissan vehicles will be powered, how they will be driven, and how they will be integrated into society, all while staying focused on creating more enjoyable driving experiences.

At the core of Nissan Intelligent Mobility are three areas of innovation:

  • Nissan Intelligent Driving, which is about creating more driver confidence, spearheaded by Nissan’s autonomous drive technology, Piloted Drive;

  • Nissan Intelligent Power, which advocates more efficiency, more power and spearheaded by electric vehicles; and

  • Nissan Intelligent Integration—new links between vehicles and society.

And for the next four years, Nissan began launching multiple vehicles with autonomous drive technology in Europe, the United States, Japan and China.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour 2.0 started early this year and Nissan Philippines gave select influencers a chance to experience the features of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

To truly illustrate Nissan’s safety solution to the toughest driving conditions  its benefits, Nissan Philippines has made a virtual cube with two different simulators to give participants firsthand experience of its features.

The small scale simulator showcases a Nissan X-trail atop an interactive touch screen that, with a touch of a button, would demonstrate the different functions of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

As part of the virtual cube, a full-size Nissan Terra is also exhibited but with a static display projected onto the floors and the walls.

Digital simulations are shown on the floors and the walls to help the user practice using Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Various scenarios are created wherein Nissan Intelligent Mobility would prove most useful such as traversing through tight lanes, detecting moving objects, and aiding the driver through low light conditions.

The public will be able to also experience all these as Nissan Philippines will be making the Nissan Intelligent Mobility through the virtual cube available during the Manila International Auto Show at the World Trade Center happening on April 4 up to April 7.
