Volkswagen announced the fully-functionally eGon model, a concept based on the all-electric eGolf that has been completely stripped of all exterior and interior panels last Friday, May 3.
To inspire kids to get excited about vehicle technology, eight trainees from Volkswagen’s Vocational Training Program who specialize in different fields created the eGon concept, a cutaway version of the 100 percent electric eGolf compact car.
The exterior body panels and interior coverings have been removed on the vehicle to expose the internal technology complete with all the wiring.
In fact, the concept is fully functional “apart from a few minor exceptions.”
Select components are labeled with QR codes that can be scanned with an iPad so that visitors can gain access to information about the parts. The model will be accompanied by vocational trainees who will be on standby to answer any further questions.
The eGon will be on display at IdeenExpo, the largest science and technology youth conference in Germany, from June 15 to 23. HM/JB
