Bentley teases release of new Flying Spur

LEGENDARY British marque Bentley Motors, on its 100th year, is introducing the new generation of its Flying Spur Grand Touring, a model promising to blend the attributes of a sports sedan and a luxury limousine. The upcoming car, Bentley says, will “set new standards for contemporary craftsmanship.”

The new Flying Spur will be released later this year, though no date has been specified yet. But Bentley has set up a microsite — www.NewFlyingSpur.com — so enthusiasts and potential clients can stay informed on the progress of the upcoming model, as well as register their interest.

Bentley says the new-generation Flying Spur owes only its historic name to the preceding model; the upcoming car will deliver an unparalleled touring experience for the driver and passengers alike. Similar to the Bentley Continental GT that was released last year, the new Flying Spur is also a from-the-ground-up development whose technology and craftsmanship are targeted to define new levels of performance and refinement in the luxury-car segment.

An example of this craftsmanship, Bentley notes, can be seen in the car’s cabin. The Flying Spur is set to debut an automotive world-first in the form of a three-dimensional, textured leather upholstery. The new material, developed by artisans in Crewe, England (where Bentley is headquartered), is just one of many new, advanced features and technologies Bentley will introduce in the third-generation of its Grand Touring sedan.

Clearly, the new Flying Spur will fly in the face of luxury car convention.
