Petron tops category in Southeast Asia PR Awards

May 30,2019

PETRON Corporation announced it topped the Best Event-Led PR Campaign category at the sixth annual Southeast Asian PR Awards held in Singapore.

Its winning campaign was the Petron TriAction Performance Run Regional Roadblock, which the company said highlighted the value of having integrated, real-time media and social media PR coverage to magnify the company’s performance run in the Philippines’ southern provinces.

Petron said the regional roadblock project allowed local TV, radio and social influencers to provide real-time updates. It added the campaign was the first considered in the category to specifically  target provinces.

The Petron TriAction Performance Run’s Mindanao to Manila edition was held earlier this month. It involved a trip that started from Davao City and passed through Malaybalay, Bukidnon; Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental; Iligan City, Lanao del Norte; Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental; and Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao. The trip crossed to the Visayas —  Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; Cebu City, Cebu; Toledo City, Cebu; Cadiz City, Negros Occidental; Bacolod City, Negros Occidental; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Kalibo City, Aklan; and Malay, Aklan. From there, the eight-vehicle caravan traveled through Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro and Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro to catch a ferry to the Batangas City port. It then traveled to Manila.

Petron said local journalists and influencers highlighted attractions in their areas while also interviewing drivers about the performance of Petron Diesel Max on all types of road conditions.

The campaign was made under the direction of Petron’s brand marketing and advertising separtment.
