WAZE has announced the official launch of a navigation feature that considers Metro Manila’s Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program, or the number coding scheme.
The navigation app has recently asked users to input their vehicle’s plate number. Waze said it uses this information in plotting alternative routes which let motorists avoid heavy traffic, as well as areas restricted under the number coding scheme.
Besides Metro Manila, the app now also incorporates the number coding scheme information into the maps of Cavite and Baguio.
Waze said drivers can use the feature by simply keying in the last two digits of their car’s license plates. The license plate information on the app can be changed if one is driving a different car.
