The Foton TransVan HR is an excellent school bus

FOTON Philippines is pitching its TransVan HR as an ideal school service vehicle.

Designed as a private-use vehicle which is also suitable as a UV Express in metropolises and the provinces, the TransVan HR’s strengths lie in its height, space, performance, safety features and affordability — major things which Foton said should be considered when purchasing a new vehicle, whether this is intended for family or business use.

The company noted the TransVan HR is 5,335 millimeters’ long, 2,020 millimeters’ wide and 2,250 millimeters’ high, making it one of the widest and tallest commercial vehicles in its segment. Its cabin height clearance is sufficient, enabling children to move around comfortably and even stand up, thanks to its high bubble roof.

Aside from height, Foton said its high-roof van makes a no-frills people carrier because of its power and space. The TransVan HR has a Euro4-compliant four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that makes 225Nm, and which is connected to a five-speed manual gearbox. Foton said this is enough power for the van to carry up to 16 passengers, along with their things for school.

The TransVan HR is also equipped with air-conditioning in the front and rear, and a 2-DIN sound system that supports CD, AM/FM radio, AUX and USB connectivity for additional entertainment on the way to school or coming back home.

In terms of safety features, Foton said the TransVan HR has a seatbelt for every passenger. The vehicle also boasts of ABS with EBD and brake assist.

“With the TransVan HR as a school service vehicle, we can reduce the pollution caused by individual cars and make the air in the community cleaner. Also, there’s no need to take your personal vehicle out during the peak traffic hours — less traffic, more savings on fuel and, most importantly, time,” said Foton Philippines president Rommel Sytin.
