HEAVY rains from midnight to early morning today have flooded some parts of Metro Manila.
According to a report from Radyo Inquirer, floodwater in Barangay Roxas District in Quezon City rose to about five feet, while sections of España Boulevard in Manila and Barangay La Paz in Makati were also submerged.
A thunderstorm advisory issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 12:14 a.m. said Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela in Metro Manila experienced heavy to intense rainfall. The same advisory covered Morong, Bagac and Limay in Bataan; Rodriguez, Rizal; Jomalig, Quezon; and the entire Bulacan.
Thunderstorms were also recorded in Zambales, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Cavite and Laguna, according to the report.
Meanwhile, a separate report from the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted Pagasa as saying that the prevailing southwest monsoon will bring more rains over parts of Luzon and the Visayas today.
Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region and the Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau. It added flash floods and landslides can be expected.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains.
