STARTING July 1 all new Subaru cars bought from the brand’s official distributor in the Philippines are covered by a comprehensive five-year, or 100,000-kilometer (whichever comes first), warranty.

Local Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) said customers who book purchases of new Subaru cars beginning July 1 are eligible for the program.

MIP explained the five-year warranty is different from an “extended warranty schemes which provide reduced coverage in subsequent years.”

To be covered by the five-year warranty, vehicle owners must adhere to scheduled service intervals conducted at authorized Subaru service centers. MIP said it will not extend the program to owners who have used “non-genuine” Subaru parts or who have performed technical alterations not authorized or approved by the company.

It added warranty coverage for STI models is different.
