This Mazda MX-5 won a 12-hour race running on Petron fuel

THE Mazda MX-5 global cup car of Team Race Form Garage 2233 on Independence Day was crowned overall champion in the Kalayaan Cup 12-hour endurance race held at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

The car, which according to Petron Corp. was fueled by Petron Blaze 100 Euro6 gasoline, completed 274 laps of the 4.2-kilometer racetrack.

Driving the winning MX-5 were Antonio Brias, Don Pastor, Enrique Hormillo and Jason Choachuy. Team Race Form Garage 2233 was managed by Francis Godinez.

Petron said the other teams it sponsored also performed well in their respective categories. Mon Dimapilis, Danby Yaptinchay, Ditrie Villacorta and Allen Escoto of Petron Blaze Racing Team won the Class 2 championship while Carlo Consumido’s Petron Tora Tora team with drivers Chad Parian, Walter Rillorta, Francis de los Reyes and Paolo Yaptinchay finished as first runner-up in Class 1.

Petron explained Kalayaan Cup is an endurance race held during Philippine Independence Day. In it, a car is driven by a team of alternating drivers who attempt to complete as many laps as possible during the 12-hour period. The race’s official fuel for all competing cars is Petron Blaze 100 Euro6.
