JD Power USA: Porsche is most appealing automobile for 2019

The Porsche brand, renowned for their high-performance, driver-centric vehicle line-up has been adjudged as the most desirable and appealing in the J.D. Power USA’s APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) study.

This study is based on owners’ initial impressions on the Porsche brand three months

into their ownership of their car. It’s hard not to see why as the brand has an enviable reputation for high-performance motoring, huge success in motorsports such as sportscar/endurance racing, particularly in Le Mans, as the Porsche brand is the winningest manufacturer in the classic 24-hour race’s storied history with 19 overall wins to date. Just recently, the Zuffenhausan-based brand finished with an impressive 1-2 at the recently concluded Spa 24 Hour sports car race held at the Spa-Francorchamp Circuit in Belgium this weekend.

With a winning record such as this, everyone wants to ride the wave of Porsche popularity and be associated with a brand known for success. This sense of reliability and dependability is also apparent on Porsche’s road car program, from their all-conquering 911 sports car, to the junior Cayman /Boxster line-up, the Panamera and Sport Turismo executive express, and the Cayenne and Cayman sportscars on stilts, there is a Porsche for every road, driving condition and occasion.

In terms of overall vehicle dependability and reliability, Porsche has consistently been in the top two for the last decade, vying against rivals from Lexus and BMW in the premium category, a testament to the brand’s sound engineering, strict manufacturing processes and excellent after-sales service. Majority of the issues stem from minor/non-essential areas such as in-car entertainment systems, navigation and the like.
