THE new car is set to be unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but Hyundai Motor has already revealed a sketch of its upcoming i10.
The new car features a more dynamic design mixing together soft surfaces and sharp lines. Hyundai said proportions for the model have been redefined in terms of width, height and wheel size, resulting in an energetic and agile look.
The upcoming i10 has a wide front grille with daytime running lights. Triangular air curtains accentuate the width and stance of the car, as well as improving aerodynamics. The X-shaped C-pillar identifies the car and draws the eye to the pillar-mounted logo. Unique triangular volumes visually emphasize the width of the car and highlight the position of the wheels at the four corners.
Hyundai said it intends to make the new i10 the leader in its segment, and so it has fitted the car with connected and safety features like Blue Link, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and a rear-view camera.
The carmaker said the new model has one of the most extensive safety packages in its class, noting the i10 has a forward collision-avoidance assist using a front radar sensor to detect not just cars but also pedestrians in front of the vehicle. The car is also equipped with driver attention warning and a lane-keep assist system as standard. High beam assist is optional.
