At last week’s “Dawn of Heroes” event held at the SM MOA Arena, the crowd was not only treated to two world-title bouts, the flyweight world grand prix semifinals, and the return of former UFC champions—one luck spectator won a brand-new “Champion Edition” of the MG ZS Crossover SUV.

The “Champion Edition” of the MG ZS came with ONE Championship gear and merchandise.

That winner also received a once-in-a-lifetime, all-expenses paid, VIP trip to meet and train with Filipino MMA powerhouse Team Lakay in their hometown of Baguio City.

Lyn Buena, MG Philippines’ Director and SVP for Marketing and Communications Services says globally, MG is a car brand that identifies closely with sport as it is a global partner to many professional sports teams and organizations.

“MG Philippines, through ONE Championship, expresses its full support of our Filipino champions, while seamlessly reinforcing the brand’s sporty and active lifestyle image. MG is a new contender in the local automotive market, and we recognize that by partnering with ONE Championship that upholds the values of integrity, honor, respect, and courage, we are able to communicate our brand’s strengths to an audience that closely identifies with our products and our value proposition,” says Buena.

Common desire

She adds the collaboration between MG Philippines and ONE Championship stemmed from a common desire to provide fans with an experience like no other and was thus punctuated by the “Weekend Crossover” raffle promo.

The winner of the “Weekend Crossover” raffle promo was determined live during the “ONE: Dawn of Heroes” event last Aug. 2, 2019.

“MG Philippines and ONE Championship are driven to achieve greatness, and this partnership allows both our companies to explore new ways of doing things, in an effort to provide exciting and innovative products and promotions for everyone to enjoy.”

MG Philippines’ partnership with ONE Championship may be regarded as a show of total support for sports and Filipino athletes, particularly Team Lakay, which has catapulted into household name status over the past years due to their success in the ONE Championship league.

“The members of Team Lakay are individuals who best exemplify what it is to be a crossover talent, in no small part due to their positive influence both in and out of the ring,” adds Buena.
