AS THE Rolls-Royce Ghost sets to end its 10-year production run, the marque offers the Zenith Collector’s Edition of the Ghost. Only 50 Zeniths will be built, all featuring the “highest levels of bespoke ever seen on a Ghost Collection car,” the carmaker said.
It added the only previous occasion on which collectors have been afforded this privilege was when an equally limited number of Phantom VII Zeniths were created in 2016 to celebrate the end of the model’s run.
The Ghost Zenith will feature an ingot made from the 2009 Ghost concept 200EX in its cabin; a blueprint-inspired artwork of the technical data of the 200EX engraved on the center console; illuminated door pockets; and a marquetry which transitions from the driver’s suite to the passenger suite, emphasizing the dual nature of the Ghost.
The Ghost Zenith is fitted with the starlight headliner presented in a shooting star configuration. Shooting stars fire at random across the cabin roof. The feature consists of over 1,340 individually mapped and hand-woven fiber-optic lights.
Rolls-Royce explained the Ghost is “a luxury icon that carries with it a rich and extraordinary past.” It traces its roots from the Silver Ghost, the motor car that established the moniker of “The Best Car in the World” over 100 years ago, to the 200EX, the experimental car that introduced the concept of a contemporary expression of this nameplate at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009. The Ghost has been a modern, lithe and driver-focused Rolls-Royce, and has been the most successful Rolls-Royce car ever to be built, according to the carmaker.
“The Ghost Zenith Collection presents an entirely forward-looking study of the unique characteristics that have seen Ghost ascend to the status of the most progressive super-luxury saloon ever conceived. This unique Collection provides patrons of the marque with a rare opportunity to own a motor car truly evocative of our time. [T]he Zenith Collection marks an important milestone in our modern history,” said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos.
The Ghost Zenith Collection’s exterior is marked by special two-tone, gloss-contrast paintjobs. Three colorways are available: Iguazu Blue with Andalusian White, Premiere Silver with Arctic White, and Bohemian Red with Black Diamond.
