Latest car technologies take to the stage at WOCEE 2019

August 22,2019

SOME of the most impressive automotive innovations revolutionizing the way people move today will be featured in the World of Consumer Electronics Expo (WOCEE) 2019. Now on its third edition, the event remains committed to showcasing the latest and most cutting-edge products and services in consumer technology. It is scheduled on September 26 to 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.

Some of the latest car technologies set to take to the stage at the expo are:

Nissan Intelligent Mobility

The Nissan Intelligent Mobility is a suite of features that aid drivers in seeing and sensing potential obstacles while driving. One of these features is the Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. Relying on four sets of cameras, it provides a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the car, as well as visual and audible alerts when an object is detected moving nearby.

Another is the Intelligent Rear View Mirror, which can instantly provide a clearer and wider rear view beyond any obstruction in the back seat. Keeping an eye out for the driver, the Blind Spot Warning issues an alert when a vehicle is detected within the driver’s blind spot. Meanwhile, the Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car has strayed from its intended lane. These features are already available with the Nissan Terra.

Inokim Mini Electric Scooter and the DYU Seated E-Scooter

The Inokim Mini is the latest from Israeli-based e-vehicle powerhouse MyWay, which is known for its major contributions to the sustainable transportation industry. Weighing only 8.5 kilograms, the Mini is convenient yet durable enough to withstand bumpy roads. Though lightweight, this electric scooter is equipped with a 200-watt motor that can get its rider up to speeds of 20km/h. It costs P33,000.

Another new release from MyWay is the DYU Seated E-Scooter. Retailing at P25,000, this scooter is practical, ergonomically designed, and can be used as a scooter or an e-bike.

DECC E-Trikes

Setting itself apart from typical tricycles, DECC’s tricycles are electronic and, therefore, eco-friendly. Available in two varieties, the DECC SEV 1.0 is best suited for personal use while the DECC E-SIX is geared towards use for public transportation. The SEV 1.0, priced at P165,000, features a compact body and a battery that can run for six to 10 hours. The E-SIX features a bigger body structure and is capable of carrying two to four passengers with a 12- to 16- hour battery life.

Other models such as the heavy-duty Segway I2 SE Patroller and Ninebot Elite PTR will also be featured at WOCEE 2019.
