VOLVO Philippines said it is strengthening its advocacy for road safety by launching the Safe Roads by Volvo program.
Through partnerships with schools, Volvo PH aims to raise road safety awareness, especially among schoolchildren, their parents or guardians, and other people in and around school premises.
Volvo PH said it has been an active advocate for road safety over the years and has spearheaded road safety projects which educate and inform people about safety on the road. Besides providing regular news updates to its clients and the public, Volvo PH said it has also set a benchmark in malls where road safety signs and information were shared through huge pillar decals and murals.
Through the Safe Roads by Volvo project, Volvo PH will collaborate with academic institutions and put up multiple road and traffic signs around schoolgrounds. The program will start with schools around Metro Manila, with MGC New Life Christian Academy as its first partner.
Volvo PH said that since Volvo was founded in 1927, it has invented some of the world’s most important breakthroughs in car and road safety. Included among these is the three-point safety belt. Volvo’s Vision 2020 aims no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020. This is where the Safe Roads by Volvo program is rooted.
