LAND Rover has allowed a glimpse of the “New Defender” ahead of the model’s world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10. Well, sort of.
Because while Land Rover released a video of the car on YouTube, the aerial shot was far enough and fleeting that no details — or even shape — could be seen. The video shows the upcoming model traveling between the towering formations of the Valley of the Castles in Charyn Canyon, Kazakhstan. Land Rover noted the place is one of the most landlocked locations on earth.
The New Defender started its overland trip there and is now traveling toward Frankfurt, Germany for its world debut.
Land Rover said its vehicles boast seven decades of pioneering innovation and have earned a place in the hearts of explorers, humanitarian agencies and adventurous families across the world. The New Defender continues this tradition, the carmaker said, as the model has been tested in the harshest environments on earth.
