THE Isuzu D-Max LS-A is the most stylish rendition of the nameplate yet since it debuted in the country in 2003. This is according to Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC), which recently unveiled the latest addition to its D-Max lineup.
IPC said the D-Max LS-A “represents nearly a century of Isuzu’s experience and innovation in the design, engineering and workmanship of diesel-powered utility vehicles.” It added the model is suitable for both business and leisure uses.
Isuzu Motors Ltd. executive officer Hirokazu Okubo noted during the model’s launch program that the first vehicle Isuzu produced — this was in 1922 — was a pickup.
“Worldwide, the Isuzu D-Max is trusted in countries like Thailand, Australia and the United Kingdom,” citing the model’s rigorous testing and development as factors for this popularity.
For his part, IPC president Hajime Koso bared that, to date, there have been more than 46,000 D-Max pickups sold in the Philippines.
“[It] continues to be one of the country’s most popular pickup models [because of] its durability, fuel efficiency and overall value for money. The new D-Max LS-A joins the ranks of premium pickups with its stylish yet functional design and competitive pricing, without compromising the D-Max’s core value of being ‘Tough Enough for Anything’,” Koso said.
Marking out the D-Max LS-A are a dark gray grille and bumper, side step boards and rocker panels, a cargo extender and roof rails. In the cabin, the model has been fitted with automatic climate control, smart entry with push-button engine start/stop system, a 12-volt accessory socket, three USB charging ports, 15 storage compartments and 10 cupholders.
Under the hood of the D-Max LS-A is Isuzu’s 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-liter, four-cylinder BluePower diesel engine with an intercooled variable geometry turbocharger. The engine makes 175hp and 380Nm. It is paired with a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
IPC said the D-Max LS-A is available with a 4×4 drive train for now, but that a 4×2 variant will be offered in the coming months. The truck has six color choices. It is priced between P1.320 million and P1.7 million.
