Want to go racing? Toyota PH now selling the race-prepped Vios

September 13,2019

THE Toyota Vios One Make Race (OMR) version can now be ordered through any of the 70 Toyota dealerships in the country.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) said the Vios OMR, sold brand-new for P1.4 million, is the same as the racecars used in the Vios Racing Festival.

Buyers of the Vios OMR are automatically qualified to compete in the Promotional Class of the Circuit Challenge event at the next leg of the Vios Racing Festival set in November. Those who buy a Vios OMR after the Vios Racing Festival’s 2019 season may take part in the event’s 2020 season.

“By making the Vios OMR available to the public, Toyota is helping to promote the grassroots motor sports scene by making it a more inclusive sport for all racing fans,” said TMP first vice president Cristina Arevalo.

TMP said the Vios OMR is based on the street-version Vios G variant. It is powered by a 1.5-liter engine that makes 106hp and 140Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Besides the standard safety features required on racetracks, the Vios OMR is also equipped with competition items like a clutch cover and disk, a limited-slip differential, sport brake pads, a muffler set, upper front mounts, a suspension set, a roll cage, an intake system, TRD aero kit, a hood lock pin, a bucket seat, seat brackets, a six-point seatbelt, a steering wheel and hub, a circuit breaker, tow hooks front and rear, a fire extinguisher, a heel plate, pedal pads, wheel nuts, body decals, alloy wheels and tires.

“This new generation of the Vios racecar is a good entry point to the world of motor sports because of its signature Quality, Durability and Reliability. Instead of simply being spectators, future owners are encouraged to enroll at the Toyota Racing School and participate in the upcoming legs of our Vios Racing Festival series,” Arevalo said.
