ALL six variants of the Toyota Fortuner now have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile compatibility features pre-installed on their infotainment systems.
Besides the software upgrade, the head unit’s hardware has also been upgraded with a new dedicated SD card slot, a 6.75-inch screen and 512MB of RAM with 8GB of ROM.
“Toyota listens to the demands of the local market, and we are always on the lookout when it comes to adapting technologies that make driving easier, safer and more enjoyable for everyone,” said Toyota Motor Philippines first vice president Cristina Arevalo. “Equipping the Fortuner with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is something our customers will surely appreciate.”
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring services have features like GPS navigation and music playback, as well as allow for managing texts and calls through the vehicle’s built-in display. The systems minimize driving distractions as these use voice commands.
“We’re confident that this much-anticipated set of software and hardware improvements will make the Toyota Fortuner even more appealing to its target market,” Arevalo said.
The Fortuner’s prices are set between P1.607 million and P2.275 million.
