Sorry, not sorry; Skyway authorities tell motorists stuck in traffic

September 26,2019

THE management of Skyway and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) took to social media late Wednesday afternoon to “appeal for patience and understanding for the temporary inconvenience caused by ongoing construction works for the Skyway Extension Project.”

Traffic on the northbound lanes of SLEX ground to a halt Wednesday morning after the outermost lane near the Alabang Viaduct was closed to traffic at the at-grade section of the Skyway. The closure gives way to the construction of the Skyway extension project.

“We assure you that an early completion of this project will ease traffic further and provide all our valued motorists higher levels of safety and convenience on the road,” the Skyway and SLEX management’s statement on social media read.

SLEX authorities had earlier advised that beginning 10 a.m. on September 24 the outermost northbound lane after the Alabang Viaduct will be closed to traffic, and that a “stop-and-go traffic scheme will be implemented at the East Service Road near [the] Kawasaki area.”
