OWNING some of the most coveted Mercedes-Benz classic cars just became more affordable. As in really affordable.
This is because the carmaker is set to bring out by mid-October its Mercedes-Benz Classic Calendar 2020. Titled “One Year of Classic Dream Cars,” the calendar features 12 photographs of cars taken at Holy Halls, the depots of the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection, which holds some 1,000 vehicles.
The calendar, sized 69 centimeters by 49 centimeters, can now be ordered online from the Mercedes-Benz Classic Store. It costs only 29.90 euros.
Each of the calendar’s photo was taken with striking light effects and points to a special history in Mercedes-Benz. Proof of this is the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II (W 201) from 1990 — the calendar’s cover and December photo — that is posed in front of DTM touring cars. This, according to Mercedes-Benz, highlights its successes in the race series.
The vehicles in the permanent exhibition of the Mercedes-Benz Museum also form part of the calendar. Included here are the Mercedes-Simplex 40 PS, the 300 SL “Gullwing” (W 198), the 300 SL Roadster (W 198), the “Uhlenhaut Coupé” (W 196 S) derived from the 300 SLR racing car and the 300 S Cabriolet A (W 188).
Taken from one of the company’s collections stored in depots is an SLS AMG Black Series (C 197). A car belonging in Mercedes-Benz’s anniversary theme “125 Years of Motorsport” which made it to the calendar is the CL 55 AMG F1 Limited Edition (C 215), which was derived from the CL 55 AMG Official FIA F1 Safety Car.
This calendar is a car guy must-have. And it’s affordable.
