September 26,2019

NISSAN Motor picked Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates as the spot on which to unveil the 2020 Nissan Patrol, which received higher levels of sophistication, comfort, safety and connectivity.

The new Patrol has a new design, enhanced luxury features and the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies while retaining its on- and off-road “go anywhere” capabilities and class-leading power, according to Nissan.

“The Patrol is one of our longest-standing and most cherished models, with a long and proud heritage,” said Joni Paiva, regional vice president of the Africa, Middle East and India region at Nissan. “The new Nissan Patrol represents the peak of luxury and ultimate capability and will continue to provide authentic experiences to its loyal customers in the Middle East and around the world.”

Nissan said the Patrol has been engineered from the wheels up to tackle the most demanding driving conditions on the planet. The model can provide the same outstanding level of comfort cruising on the highway in Dubai or negotiating rocky mountain terrain, thanks to best-in-class engines and the vehicle’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control.

The Patrol is powered by either a 4.0-liter V6 that makes 275hp and 394Nm, or a 5.6-liter V8 producing 400hp and 560Nm. An all-time 4X4 system can switch modes to handle different on- and off-road conditions. Hydraulic Body Motion Control, available on the V8 models, ensures a more comfortable ride thanks to improved suspension and vibration reduction.

Marking out the 2020 Patrol is Nissan’s V-motion grille that has been reinterpreted for SUVs, boomerang-shaped LED headlights and taillamps, a redesigned grille, a large chrome nameplate and sequential rear turn indicators. Inside the vehicle is a new center console incorporating dual displays fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These connect to smartphones. Also new are diamond-stitch quilted leather seats with added padding and hand-stitched steering wheel.

Nissan said the Patrol has significant reductions in noise and vibration, and has improved cooling and air flow distribution.

Along with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the 2020 Patrol also has Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection and the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system.

Nissan noted the Patrol is the icon of its SUV heritage, with about 1.9 million sold since the nameplate’s debut in 1951. It remains as the flagship of the brand’s 4×4 lineup.

The 2020 Patrol is now on sale in the Middle East.
