THE Mitsubishi Mi-Tech Concept small electrified SUV and the Super Height K-Wagon Concept kei car will be the leading features at Mitsubishi Motors Corp.’s (MMC) display floor in the upcoming 46th Tokyo Motor Show, set on October 24 to November 4.
MMC said the Mi-Tech is an “electric SUV that delivers unparalleled driving pleasure and confidence over all terrain in light and wind.” The car has a small plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, a four-motor electric 4WD system, and advanced driver assistance and active safety devices. It can run in both pure-electric driving mode and series hybrid modes.
The Mi-Tech also has a human machine interface (HMI) that projects information onto the car’s AR windshield. Its driver assistance system not only alerts the driver to a potential collision, but can also support its steering and the brakes.
MMC said the Super Height K-Wagon Concept features a roomy interior while still delivering nimble handling and brisk performance. It also gets the same driver assistance technologies as those found in the Mi-Tech, including — tellingly — something called a “mis-acceleration mitigation” system.
Another new concept model MMC will display at its booth is the Engelberg Tourer, a midsize electrified SUV powered by Mitsubishi’s Twin Motor 4WD plug-in hybrid EV system. The vehicle has three-row seating.
Besides the three concept models, to be displayed at Mitsubishi’s booth are the Outlander PHEV, Delica D:5, RVR (or ASX), Eclipse Cross and the eK Wagon and eK Cross.
