The 2020 Porsche Cayenne is pure driving bliss in an SUV package

THE 2020 Porsche Cayenne is a midsize SUV that can take on any sports car in the market today; it packs a 3.0-liter V6 powerplant that churns out 340hp at 5,300-6,400rpm and 450Nm of torque. The engine mates with an eight-speed tiptronic S gearbox.

Aided by its exceptional handling and acceleration, the 2020 Cayenne far surpasses rivals in its segment. This front engine, four-wheel drive SUV accelerates from 0-100km/h in only 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 245km/h.

The 2020 Cayenne is truly a joy to drive. Nothing can take the silly smile off your face as you go through the gears, going ever faster than you have imagined an SUV would go. Quite simply, the 2020 Cayenne is pure driving bliss packaged in an SUV platform.

The interior of the Cayenne is so well appointed that even a jaded enthusiast will agree it does not stray far from the Porsche heritage. Packed with enough modern-day features to assist the driver, but not too much to dilute the experience.

While the interior is mostly wrapped in leather, the tactile quality one gets is of pure luxury. Comfortable eight-way adjustable powered seats conform to your body, cradling you ever so snugly. The new center console display is big, measuring about 12 inches across, and comes with the direct touch control of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation mode. An optional Bose surround-sound system complements the infotainment unit.

The Cayenne has an electric parking brake with automatic hold function, park assist for the front and rear, and automatic engine start/stop system that saves much needed fuel and emissions (specifically when you sit in traffic). Also standard on the Cayenne are LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and LED interior lighting.

Fuel consumption tops at around 11.3-11.1 liters per 100 kilometers (urban) and 8.0–7.9 liters per 100 kilometers (extra urban). Stopping this SUV are four piston monobloc aluminum fixed calipers in front while two-piston monobloc aluminum brakes are found at the rear. All brakes have internally vented discs.

The 2020 Cayenne is not an ordinary SUV.
