ACCOMPANYING Peugeot Philippines’ launch of its “Protectors of the Environment” initiative earlier this week was the introduction of the new Peugeot 3008 Active Petrol, the SUV model’s gasoline variant.

Peugeot Philippines said the addition of the 3008 Active Petrol to its lineup takes the brand “another step closer in achieving a strong foothold in the market” as it “opens up a new market segment” for Peugeot.

“The launch of the 3008 SUV Active Petrol is exciting for us because we are finally able to compete fairly with the best products the industry has to offer. It also affirms the commitment of the Peugeot brand to the Philippines,” said Dodie Gañac, Peugeot Philippines’ director for sales.

The 3008 Active Petrol costs P1.890 million.

Peugeot’s signature i-Cockpit

It is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that, with the help of a twin-scroll, high-pressure turbocharger, makes 165hp and 240Nm. Sending this output to a front wheel is a six-speed automatic transmission. Wheels fitted to the 3008 Active Petrol are sized 18 inches, wrapped with 225/55 tires.

Some of the model’s other features include smart entry, multi-way power-adjustable front seats, electric parking brake with hill-start assist, a multimedia unit with an eight-inch touchscreen panel, USB ports and a 12-volt socket, dual-zone automatic climate control and parking sensors. Peugeot Philippines said the 3008 Active Petrol’s seats are covered in Claudia leather. Peugeot’s signature i-Cockpit instrumentation makes it to the car as well.

Peugeot Philippines noted that, like the other products it sells, the 3008 SUV Active Petrol has preinstalled AutoSweep and EasyTrip RFIDs — useful on the North and South expressways. The model is covered by a comprehensive warranty for five years.
